Terms of Service

Last updated: June 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of ChessCore, the academy management platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. They are written to be readable; where a term has a precise legal meaning, that meaning applies.

1. The service

ChessCore provides software for running chess academies: scheduling, attendance, student and guardian management, billing, chess game analysis, AI-drafted communication with human approval, and family portals. Features vary by plan as described on the pricing page.

2. Accounts and responsibility

Academy owners control their academy's account and are responsible for the data they enter, the staff they invite, and the messages they approve and send. You agree to keep credentials secure and to enter only data you have the right to use, including obtaining guardian consent for minors as required by applicable law.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, harm, or exploit any person, especially a minor
  • Attempt to access another academy's data or probe the service's security
  • Resell or sublicense the service without a written agreement
  • Use the service to send spam or unlawful communications

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. Annual plans are billed upfront at a discount. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your dashboard: upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades and cancellations at the end of the current billing cycle. The free plan can be used without a payment method. Fees paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

5. AI features

AI features produce drafts from your academy's records. You review and approve what is sent; the academy remains responsible for communications sent under its name, including any template it explicitly sets to auto-send. We design AI features with guardrails described on our AI page, but drafts can contain errors, and review before sending is part of the intended use of the product.

6. Your data

Your academy's data belongs to your academy. We process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data, and on account closure we delete it on request, subject to legal retention obligations.

7. Intellectual property

ChessCore and its software, design, and content are our intellectual property. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service during your subscription. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and to announce material changes in advance. Features may evolve; if we discontinue something a paid plan relies on, we will provide reasonable notice. Enterprise plans may include specific availability commitments in their agreement.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, ChessCore is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature survive termination, including data, IP, and liability provisions, survive.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, unless an enterprise agreement specifies otherwise.
