Definition
A parent update is a message about an individual student, a progress recap, fee receipt, attendance note, or make-up class notice, delivered to that family's own WhatsApp thread rather than a batch group. In ChessCore, AI drafts the update from database records and a coach approves it before it sends; nothing reaches a parent automatically.
In practice
Parent update is the general term for anything ChessCore sends to a single family: a monthly progress recap, a fee receipt, an attendance note, or a make-up class confirmation. Each one starts as an AI-drafted message pulled from the student's actual records, then waits in a coach's approval queue until a named coach reads, edits, and approves it. Only after approval does the update land in the family's individual WhatsApp thread or their guardian portal login, never in a batch group. A progress report is the most detailed kind of parent update, built to a fixed monthly format; a fee receipt and an attendance note are shorter, more frequent kinds.
