Make-up credit definition

A make-up credit is a recorded entitlement to one replacement class, issued under an academy's written policy. The record names the student, the class it replaces and the date issued, with an expiry date if the policy sets one. Where and when it can be used depends on the policy, the student's level and free seats.

A make-up credit is an entry in the academy's ledger, and it exists only when the written policy says a kind of absence earns one. A leave request from a parent does not create a credit by itself, and neither does a missed class. In ChessCore, credits are settled from the attendance marks a coach records, according to the academy's policy. A coach checks a student's open credits before offering a replacement class, and the policy decides whether the class is a pooled make-up slot, a free seat in a batch of the same level or an online session. Owners meet the term while drafting an absence policy, training a new coach on the ledger, or comparing a tool that tracks credits with a spreadsheet that forgets them. A make-up credit differs from a demo class, which introduces a prospective student rather than compensating one already enrolled.
